Because of his love for the sport of badminton, senior badminton athlete, Taufik Hidayat, who is also still actively playing badminton, wants to spread his enthusiasm and spirit of sportsmanship through the international senior badminton championship that he founded and named “1st Sunrise Taufik Hidayat Cup 2024”. In his first year, he started this championship in his homeland, Bandung, West Java in January 2024.
This championship was held on January 12-14 2024. In its first year, this championship was attended by 8 teams from various countries. It is hoped that this championship can become an annual sporting event which in the future can foster solidarity between players and can also contribute to advancing the sport of badminton.
